Angkor Wat is a religious temple originally built as a buddhist temple but turned into a hinduism temple in the late 12th century. It was built in approximately 1120 AD by the King Suryavarman the 2nd. The temple is made out of stone and stands 65m high and approximately 155m wide. the angkor wat is surrounded by a moat that is 200m wide and is 4 meters deep, the moat has a perimeter of approximately 5 km. The Angkor wat is the biggest religious temple built to date, recently there has been secret rooms and painting found in the temple.
Angkor Wat is dedicated to Vishnu, one the supreme God. The central tower of Angkor Wat rises from the center of the monument symbolizing the mythical mountain, Meru.
